The sunlight fought through a mostly overcast sky this morning, creating a few tinges of pink and orange light in a dramatic scene up at the waterfront.

Back to the grind. The sky was mostly clear and pale this morning, and I was having a hard time finding anything particularly interesting along the waterfront. And then I came to this spot. I walk along this walkway almost every day, but never really paid it much attention from this perspective. It’s amazing how taking just a few steps back can provide a whole new experience.
Try to look at something from a slightly different angle today. You might be surprised by what you find.

I get reminded time and time again that sometimes you have to just let things happen.
When I first arrived up at the waterfront, the scene just wasn’t quite right. The cloud formations were in awkward places, and there wasn’t much color in the sky. I forced a couple of shots and was underwhelmed.
Slowly but surely, as I continued to walk along the waterfront, things started to develop. The clouds moved into better positions, and breaks in the clouds let through blotches of colored light. The haze in the city was perfect. And the ferry arrived, right on cue.
