This morning was an almost surreal scene of clouds and color. The most intensity was at the ends, at the extremes. This is often the case, at sunrise and in life. You constantly have to make decisions where you want to be along this spectrum. You have to decide which degree of intensity is right for you. How far from the middle point of mediocrity you can handle. The risk is in proportion to the reward.
Friday, August 14, 2015 (Day 226)
It appeared to be a completely clear morning at first, but when I got up to the waterfront I discovered a cluster of glowing pink clouds set back from the city skyline. The only way to get it all in one shot was with a panoramic.
I’ve spoken many times a about the importance of paying attention to details, but today’s experience reminded me that it is also important to know when to take a wider view and see the big picture.
Wednesday, August 5, 2015 (Day 217)
What a start to the day. I’ve been photographing the sunrise for 217 days now and today was one of my favorites.
People often ask me about my future plans and where I am going with this project. In short, while I am going to continue photographing the sunrise every day for a while and continue looking for ways to gain exposure for my work, I will also be looking for ways to spread my message and help to inspire people to do extraordinary things in their lives. Essentially, I want to be the Gary Vaynerchuk (@garyvee) of sunrise photography. Gary went from working in his parents’ liquor store, to posting homemade videos of himself tasting wine, to parlaying that into becoming a world-renowned social media expert, entrepreneur, speaker, author, and inspiration for millions of people. While his vehicle to get there was wine, mine will be sunrise photography.
Those who subscribe to my email newsletter on my website will get more inside info about my future plans and projects.

Insane colors at sunrise this morning. The location of the sun was all the way to the left of this image, but all the clouds were further south (right), so it didn’t take long to figure out that the best way to capture it all would be with a panoramic.
This was taken from one of my favorite spots where the water is like glass and it makes a nice reflection.
