My first morning back in Hoboken to watch the sunrise over NYC. It was great to see the city and the bright orange color in the sky. It always feels good to see this view. Unfortunately for me, though, I’m back to the earlier sunrises of the northeast which means I have to wake up earlier again (around 4:45) in order to get outside with time to spare. This was not an easy task upon returning home, especially when still needing to catch up on some sleep. For this photo, I just went over to the waterfront and did a quick pano with my phone before going back to get a little more rest.
Sunday, June 7, 2015 (Day 158)
Some great colors could be seen looking north up the Hudson River this morning. I went out to the end of a pier to get the best viewing angle. After a few minutes of shooting, I started to realize that my single images weren’t doing the scene justice, and that it would be better captured with a panoramic. The end result better emphasized the horizon, the skyline, and the waterfront in a way that more accurately describes my experience this morning.
Tuesday, May 12, 2015 (Day 132)
Experimented with some panos this morning.
There was an incredible, dense fog on the surface of the water, and as the sun began to rise there were some bright pink clouds at the north end of the river. It was difficult to capture it all in one frame, so I decided it might be fun to try a few panoramics.
Slowly, more fog crept in and started to envelop the buildings along the water, as you can see in the bottom photo.
These are far from my best photos from a technical standpoint, but it is fun to try new things.
