Early morning surf.
A lot of people consider Labor Day to be the end of summer, but for me the next month or so is the best time to be at the shore.
Monday, July 27, 2015 (Day 208)
It started out a rainy morning, and at first everything was just dark and gray without much color at all. After standing on the beach in the rain for a while, I was thinking about leaving the beach for a different location, but soon the rain began to subside and eventually stopped. I waited a little longer, hoping that as the sun continued to rise it would create a nice glow through the clouds. Sure enough, it did, as a soft yellow glow began to create some contrast to the blue-gray clouds.

A humid and hazy sunrise at the beach this morning. This giant cloud formation turned pink as the sun was coming up. I took a series of shots to try to get the reflection in the shallow water as the waves receded, and this one came out the best.
Sunday, May 31, 2015 (Day 151)
(Sunday, May 31st) Had an amazing morning up at the inlet. This has to be one of my all time favorite places to watch the sunrise. It took me a little while to get the camera settings and composition just the way I wanted them, but luckily everything was set just in time for this moment. A fraction of a second later, I was soaked. It was worth it.
