A slippery slope. Frozen tire tracks on the pier made a nice reflection this morning as the sun cast its first rays.

Saturday, February 21, 2015 (Day 52)
The sky was flooded with color from the rising sun. A thin, slippery layer of ice covered everything in sight. A family of geese sat silently and still in the icy cold water. Chunks of ice floated down the Hudson. And there I was, lying flat on my belly on a freezing cold patch of ice, snow, and sand, trying to compose the perfect shot.
Sunday, February 8, 2015 (Day 39)
A family of geese accompanied me this morning to watch the sunrise from this icy cove. At 34 degrees, it was considerably warmer than most other mornings so far this year.
I’ve photographed this spot several times recently, but today I just couldn’t pass it up because seeing all this ice in the Hudson River is such a rare occurrence. It was nice to have the geese around too.
