The Summer Solstice. It’s the longest day of the year (by about two seconds) and the first day of summer. But it’s actually not the earliest sunrise of the year…that happened exactly one week ago on June 14th. The sun has been rising a few seconds later each morning since that day, and the distance between sunrise times will be increasing each day for the next several months.
It’s also my first Father’s Day since becoming a dad over nine months ago, so Happy Father’s Day to all the other dads out there. It was a rainy morning. Not quite what I had I mind for today, but that’s ok…part of being a dad is learning to just roll with the things that happen.
