The thermometer read 6 degrees when I woke up this morning, with a sub-zero wind chill. February has been a brutal month so far, but today I bundled up and braved the cold.
Monday, February 23, 2015 (Day 54)
It was yet another cloudy, cold, windy morning. This photo is a panoramic of the view to which I awoke. I do feel lucky to be able to see both the World Trade Center and the Empire State Building (well at least part of it) from my window. It’s a great way to start the day, even on what may appear to be an uninviting morning.
Sunday, February 22, 2015 (Day 53)
Another snowy scene at dawn this morning. A barely transparent snowy haze shrouded the city skyline. The tire tracks in the snow formed somewhat of a loop, similar to the loop we are in with this weather. The sun will have to wait for another day.
Saturday, February 21, 2015 (Day 52)
The sky was flooded with color from the rising sun. A thin, slippery layer of ice covered everything in sight. A family of geese sat silently and still in the icy cold water. Chunks of ice floated down the Hudson. And there I was, lying flat on my belly on a freezing cold patch of ice, snow, and sand, trying to compose the perfect shot.
