Do Extraordinary Things
I’ve been waiting for just the right background sky for this shot. Most days there is either not enough haze to get very much color, or there is too much going on in the sky (in which cases I would use a wider angle).
This morning there was a thick haze in the sky along with these glowing pink clouds hanging near the horizon. It was the perfect opportunity to zoom in and capture this scene.
The idea for this photo came from one of my Instagram followers who loves the Chrysler Building.
Cherry blossoms in the park.
The sun has been rising before 6am for about a week now, so I’m now in a period of time where I am waking up super early to get outside.
Today was no different, I was out taking photos at the first glow of daylight, and even had my shot picked out for today. But on my walk home, I came to this park just as the sun was breaking over the city skyline, and the way first rays of direct sunlight lit up this cherry blossom just couldn’t be passed up.
Also, yesterday I crossed 500 followers on my Instagram account! (www.instagram.com/capturethesunrise). I am so appreciative of the amount of support I’ve received for this project in just a few short months.
An orange haze blanketed the horizon this morning.
The surface of the water in the cove was like glass this morning at dawn.
Clouds were scarce, but this one group of clouds passed by at just the right time.
This was the first shot I took this morning, and I’m glad I captured it because it was the last time I’d see any significant clouds.
There was a band of thick clouds hanging near the horizon this morning, which only allowed brief tinges of color in parts of the sky that were difficult to photograph effectively for my purposes.
When the faint colors went away, I thought I was done for the morning, but decided to wait and see if a better shot would develop.
Sure enough, just as the sun came up, the clouds became spectacular. I’m glad I waited those extra few minutes.
