An interesting scene up at the waterfront this morning. While the lower-hanging clouds remained mostly dark, the upper layer of clouds lit up in gorgeous color above my head. A fisheye lens was a necessity to capture this entire scene. I carry my fisheye with me in my bag almost every morning, but I rarely use it. Moments like this make it worth it to be prepared.
Monday, July 13, 2015 (Day 194)
It was a great day for a morning stroll along the waterfront. At first I saw a faint pink glow among the heavy clouds, and I thought maybe that would be the most color I would see. But it continued to grow and get brighter and brighter, so I knew it was time to set up and start shooting. The peak of its intensity lasted for less than one minute before it started to fade away.

Saturday, July 11, 2015 (Day 192)
These benches have been a target of mine ever since the flowers bloomed on those bushes more than a month ago. I’ve been wanting to do a similar shot to the one I took nearby at the beginning of spring with benches surrounded by white flowers, which quickly became one of my most popular photos. The bright colors on these bushes warm up the scene a bit.
I’ve actually photographed these benches several times before, but never used any of the photos before. Today, everything looked just right.
Friday, July 10, 2015 (Day 191)
Today’s sunrise was a tough one to photograph. Dark clouds above, with bright light blasting through clear sky near the horizon. The clouds were moving rapidly, and the colors were changing just as quickly.
I was feverishly shooting one photo after another, trying different camera settings and filter combinations, hoping to get “the” shot. The one you see here was my favorite.
Also, I’ve been getting a lot of questions from people who want to order prints of my photos. I’m happy to announce that you can place orders right from my website! I sell my photos as prints, canvas, digital downloads, and even keepsakes such as coffee mugs, mouse pads, etc. Visit the “order” page in the menu bar of my website for details.
