Autumn explosion.
This morning’s sunrise was incredible–one of the best of the year.
I was amazed right from the start, and just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, it kept getting even better, until it got to the point you see here.

Early morning color at Stevens.
This photo was not planned–I was actually on my way to a different location I had in mind when I happened to glance over and noticed that something looked different.
For most of the year there has been scaffolding from renovations obstructing this whole area, which was pretty disappointing for me because this is one of the best views in Hoboken. I hadn’t been up this way in a while and was surprised to see the scaffolding was gone. It took me a few seconds to realize it.
The colors were great, and I ended up taking a bunch of different shots from this area. It felt like becoming re-acquainted with an old friend.

October sunrise.
Fall is officially here, which may sound like a strange thing to say because fall has been here for about a month according to the calendar. But this morning was the first time it has dipped down into the 30’s and for the first time it sure felt like fall.
I wore a hat and gloves for the first time on my outing this morning, which under normal circumstances might be a bit of overkill but I knew I’d be out there standing around for a while so I wanted to be prepared.
I’ve been searching for the perfect fall sunrise photo, and had learned about this display a few days ago, so I figured what better day to do it than today.
