Perched.
There was a clear sky this morning with a hazy orange glow, so I went out looking for a new vantage point–something a little different than usual.
I went down to Pier C and was happy to see the gate open. For a good part of the year, the sun had been rising earlier than the time these gates get opened each morning, but not anymore.
I walked around looking for the right view, and then I saw it–there is a big slide in the middle of the park with a perch on top.
I climbed up the vertical ladder which is inside an enclosure which was obviously meant for someone the size of a 5-year-old. I squeezed up the narrow opening, with all my camera gear.
From the top was a great view. I took some photos in an attempt to best capture the view.
After a few minutes, it was time to get down. I looked straight down that narrow opening I had climbed up. And then I remembered the slide right next to me. I contemplated my two options for a minute, looking back and forth. Did I take the slide down? You bet I did.
