No longer at the shore, I found my own beach today.
I let myself sleep in a bit this morning, completely forgoing the potential for any early splash of color in the clouds prior to sunrise.
For those who don’t know, I normally try to be out there at least 20 minutes prior to sunrise to make sure I don’t miss any early colors. Today’s sunrise was at 6:21am and I got out there right around that time.
I don’t know what the sky looked like at 6am, nor do I care. One of the things I’ve learned from this project is to not dwell on what might have been. I’ve always had a tendency to perfect and optimize everything, and I still do, but that isn’t always a good thing. The important thing is to execute–to make a decision and move forward without worrying too much about whether or not you are doing everything in the absolute most perfect way. Thinking that way helps me get a lot more done and have less stress and no regrets.
