It was another morning of dramatic clouds, similar to yesterday, though perhaps even better at times.
Earlier this summer, on July 9th, I spoke about how the best colors in the sky seemed to be getting a bit later in relation to the actual sunrise times. Then on July 21st I talked about a phenomenon that started happening which I call “the second coming”, where there is a second burst of color in the sky about 20 minutes after the initial one.
Well, for the past week or so I’ve noticed that the second coming is all there has been. The “first coming”–the initial burst of color about 20 minutes before sunrise–has seemed to go away. I don’t know if that has to do with the changing tilt of the Earth’s axis, or if it has just been a coincidence due to weather, but there hasn’t been much color lately until about 15-20 minutes after the actual sunrise time.
I’m not sure if this will change, but I will keep a close eye on it because it could have an impact on my morning routine.
