Just arrived at the airport, about to catch an early flight to get away for a few days.

Tuesday, June 23, 2015 (Day 174)
Today I witnessed one of the most incredible sunrises I’ve ever seen. It started out with dark clouds near the horizon, similar to this past Saturday, so I wasn’t sure if much was going to happen. But today there was a slight haze in the air which I guess helped to illuminate the sky, and you can see the result here.
I hope someone out there finds some kind of inspiration in what I’m doing….to make changes in your daily routine or your life in general, or to do something a little different. Trust me, moments like this make it all worth it.

Sunday, June 21, 2015 (Day 172)
The Summer Solstice. It’s the longest day of the year (by about two seconds) and the first day of summer. But it’s actually not the earliest sunrise of the year…that happened exactly one week ago on June 14th. The sun has been rising a few seconds later each morning since that day, and the distance between sunrise times will be increasing each day for the next several months.
It’s also my first Father’s Day since becoming a dad over nine months ago, so Happy Father’s Day to all the other dads out there. It was a rainy morning. Not quite what I had I mind for today, but that’s ok…part of being a dad is learning to just roll with the things that happen.
